Tuesday night's announcement by the Government that no licences will be issued for events of over 5,000 people until September at the earliest, has put paid to this year's INDIE2020 festival in Mitchelstown.
In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, Shane Dunne said he and his committee were 'obviously heartbroken' that the festival has had to be cancelled.
"We are obviously heartbroken that for the first time since 2005, there won’t be a festival in Mitchelstown on the August weekend but there is a far bigger picture here and we fully support the Government decision."
