An online fundraising effort based in Lismore and Cappoquin, County Waterford, has raised over €1,500 in just 3 days for frontline workers in their communities.

The organisers plan to use the funds to supply ‘care packs’ to 300 people in the two communities, whose essential work, they feel, deserves recognition.

The volunteer organisers established a GoFundMe page on the popular crowdfunding website, with a target amount of €3,000.

Leesa Kennefick, Sheila Powderly, Orla Murphy and Mark Beer from Lismore, along with Bridget Murray and Kathleen Coffey of Cappoquin, had put together a list of 300 individuals from the two West Waterford towns, who have continued to provide essential services to people during the pandemic.
