
Farm inspections undertaken in the Fermoy Municipal District, which encompasses Fermoy, Mitchelstown and surrounds, were more than three times that of some neighbouring municipal districts within the county.
Figures shared at Monday’s meeting of the Northern Divisional Committee, revealed that over 300 farm inspections were carried out this year in the Fermoy MD, while neighbouring regions of Mallow, East Cork and Macroom had less than 100, and both Cobh and Carrigaline recorded less than 50.
Over 100 inspections were undertaken in the Bandon/Kinsale district, while 250 were carried out in the West Cork district.
