North Cork Community Special School in Carraig na bhFear will open as intended on Monday, August 31st, a Department of Education and Youth spokesperson has confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Department this week confirmed to The Avondhu that building works at the North Cork Community Special School, housed on the former Scoil An Athar Tadhg site, are now complete and the building is ready to be occupied.

According to the spokesperson, the Department is continuing its ‘positive engagement’ with Uisce Éireann and Cork County Council regarding wastewater, confirming that no wastewater will be discharged into the local wastewater system until ‘full agreement has been reached with Uisce Éireann’.
