
Mitchelstown is set to become the next town in county Cork to host a driving test centre.
Confirming that the Road Safety Authority (RSA) is working with the Office of Public Works (OPW) to finalise arrangements for the new facility, Cllr Deirdre O’Brien said the test centre is more likely to be operational by early October, although there is a possibility it could open this month.
Speaking to The Avondhu, Cllr O’Brien described the development as an important step in reducing long waiting lists for driving tests across Munster, saying the news was ‘very positive’. She said Mitchelstown is a central location for the province, just off the M8 and such an easy town to get around.
