A number of offers have been made to purchase the former Grand Hotel on Ashe Quay in Fermoy, The Avondhu understands, however it is unconfirmed yet as to whether an offer has been accepted.
The future of the site has been greatly speculated on around the town in recent weeks. Closure of the Quays Bar on Abbey Street in recent weeks, which operated from the adjoining premises that was previously advertised as part of a property portfolio with The Grand Hotel, has added to the speculation locally.
Unidentified individuals have also been seen entering and exiting the vacant building, and the lights were noted as being turned on inside the hotel recently, possibly for the first time since it was vacated by Ukrainian refugees who had been residing at the premises.
