Illustrious past pupil and former board of management chairperson, Denis Walsh, had the honour of officially opening a new classroom in Ballynoe National School last Thursday evening.
After unveiling a plaque to mark the occasion, Denis spoke about the importance of Ballynoe National School to the community, the commitment of its teachers and the willingness of parents to continually offer practical and financial support.
Principal Mary Mulcahy acknowledged the input of the board of management under chairperson, Mary Duncan and the important role played by the parents’ association in securing the new classroom.
She also referred to other recent improvement works in the school, which include reseeding the pitch and the laying of a new walkway.
