The west Waterford town of Cappoquin is on the up and up and this week, the local camogie club are celebrating their own county star, Lorraine Bray, who was the recipient of a Camogie All-Star Award over the weekend in Croke Park.
A Melleray local, Lorraine began playing the sport from a young age and quickly rose through the ranks at Cappoquin Camogie Club and with the Waterford squad.
Now the Waterford captain and playing at midfield, this is her second time receiving a PwC Camogie All-Stars Award, having also received one in 2019 for her performance as a half-back.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Lorraine said she was ‘absolutely delighted’ to receive the award and has seen massive support for both her and Waterford County.
