Traffic in Fermoy came to a standstill Monday afternoon and saw queues of up to 45 minutes forming within the town.
According to local man, Joe Tobin, the town was ‘completely chock-a-block’ as a stop-go system was put in place while a survey being carried out by Irish Water was being carried out.
“There was a queue of nearly 45 minutes down by Supervalu at around 3pm. Unless the works were very important, they should have looked at doing it outside of peak hours.
