Irish learning at the touch of a button

The ‘Bailiúchán Mo Chuid Amhráin Ghaeilge’ collection, especially released for Chrismas by My Irish Books.

Independent publisher My Irish Books has launched two special music-focused collections for children and their families to enjoy during the 2024 Christmas season.

The first collection is ‘Bailiúchán Mo Chuid Amhráin Ghaeilge’, an interactive three-book boxset, featuring traditional Irish songs, including the songs ‘Oró Sé do Bheatha Abhaile’, ‘Beidh Aonach Amárach’ and ‘An Poc ar Buile’. Each book features high-quality recordings sung by young Irish voices, that can be played by simply pushing a button.

The second collection contains seven Irish-language books: Mo Chuid Amhráin Ghaeilge 1, 2 and 3; Mo Chuid Amhráin Nollag (Christmas songs as gaeilge); Mo Chéad Rainn Ghaeilge (Irish verses); Mo Chuid Uirlisí Ceoil (musical instruments); and Mo Chuid Rincí Gaelacha (Irish dances).

Founded in Kells, County Meath in 2020, My Irish Books is an independent publisher which specialises in sound books that bring the Irish language and Irish culture to life at the push of a button. The books feature original artwork by award-winning illustrators Tatyana Feeney and Anne O’Hara.

Director of the My Irish Books, Risteard MacLiam, said the company had enjoyed an incredible year.

“Our customers constantly tell us that they love gifting these books to the children in their lives. Similarly, feedback from parents and guardians shows that children engage with them endlessly, singing, dancing and learning along the way. Our goal remains to build connections across generations, children, parents and grandparents, making the Irish language accessible, enjoyable and central to family life.”
