“No messing, no acting the eejit, and great to see it back”: so summed up INDIE22 according to John Cleary, owner of Walsh’s Bar in Mitchelstown.
The return of the festival after three years seems to have been almost universally greeted favourably, and while Friday seemed a bit slow to get going in town, it looks like Saturday and Sunday more than made up for it.
The 2FM Roadcaster was parked up in the square from Friday morning onwards, and walking through town The Avondhu witnessed many the sleeping bag wrapped around a 12-pack of cans.
Boys from Bandon were in the square, having set up their tents already and came in to have a pint, and so one of them could get a haircut in advance of the upcoming 48 hours of revelry.
