Thanks to a great team effort, this year’s Haulie Murphy Memorial Tractor Run raised a magnificent total of €6,280.
Organisers are most grateful for the public’s support and take this opportunity to thank everyone for their assistance.
Proceeds were divided equally between, COPE, Fermoy and St. Patrick’s Community Hospital, Fermoy. At a very enjoyable function in Fitzgibbons’ Bar, Glanworth last Saturday night, representatives from both these groups were on hand to accept the funding.
The COPE cheque was accepted by Ian Fleming, Mary Allen and Denis Crowley. Ian said COPE were presently fundraising for the purchase of a people carrier and that the €3,140 was a fantastic boost, he thanked the committee and their supporters for their generosity.
Responding on behalf of Fermoy Hospital, Tadhg O’Donovan said the money was very welcome and would be used to further increase patient comfort. He went on to acknowledge the time and effort put in by those charged with organising an event that honours the memory of Haulie Murphy who sadly lost his life in a tractor accident 3 years ago.
MC for the presentation ceremony was Annie Roche who did a very professional job.
