Harsh realities outlined at Ballyhooly meeting

Ballyhooly residents turned out in force to a meeting on Friday night, held in relation to the ongoing water issues in the village.

The national school in Ballyhooly, Scoil Mhuire, was forced to close no less than 11 times in the last school year due to a lack of water in the village. This was just one of several emotional testimonies from members of the community, relayed at a public meeting in the village on Friday last.

Councillors who attended the meeting, pledged their complete support in helping to resolve the ongoing water crisis in the stricken village.

An online petition has been set up with local residents petitioning the Government and Uisce Éireann to urgently address what is the ongoing water supply crisis in the village. At the time of going to press, the petition continued to gain traction and had upwards of 150 signatures.
