A campaign by students from St Colman’s College, Fermoy that arose from a desire to assist a fellow student battling cancer, has raised €51,132. 

The Transition Year students involved attended last Monday’s official handover which took place in the school’s Croke Library.

Representatives from Bumbleance, Ronald McDonald House and The Children’s Ward of the Mercy Hospital also attended.

Accepting on behalf of the family of the sick student, college chaplain Fr Eamon Barry, described the St Colman’s students as ‘young men who made a difference’.
