Fermoy’s ‘Connection to the Community’ project has claimed runner-up in the Large Town (5,000-10,000) category at the 2021 .IE Digital Town Awards.
The town was entered into the competition by Fermoy Forum, thanks to their ongoing collaboration with the Xplore Fermoy App under the categories of digital vision, digital projects and digital rising star.
Speaking with The Avondhu, chairperson of Fermoy Forum, Michael Lyons said that everyone was ‘very happy’ with the result.
“We were delighted to be shortlisted. We thought we had a very good chance. We were announced as runners-up and next year we hope to go on to get the top prize,” he enthused.
