Deirdre O'Brien's association with Scoil Mhuire National School in Ballyhooly dates back to 1979.
As she prepares to step away from teaching and into a well-earned retirement, locals were keen to acknowledge her considerable contribution to Ballyhooly NS.
A function in Deirdre's honour took place in Ballyhooly Community Centre last Thursday night.
