The Irish Cancer Society is one of the country’s most high profile charities and numerous events are held every year to assist its work.

On Saturday last, early morning shoppers in Farrell’s Centra, Mitchelstown would have been aware of a fundraising event in aid of The Irish Cancer Society.

Promoted as ‘Cups Against Cancer’, it was an opportunity for the public to assist a good cause while enjoying some freshly brewed tea and coffee.

Organisers said they were delighted with the level of support the coffee morning received and they take this opportunity to thank subscribers for their generosity – they also wish to thank Sean Farrell and his staff for facilitating the fundraiser. A total of €250 was raised on the day.
