Cllr John Murphy is urging Fermoy parents to complete the survey on school patronage, pointing out that its an important opportunity for them to have their say on the type of school they’d like their children to attend in the future.
The findings of the survey by the Department of Education will be used to consider what changes, if any, should and could be made to widen the choice of patronage of schools in the Fermoy area.
“It also gives parents the opportunity to retain the type of school they’d prefer if they so wish,” he pointed out.
The survey is an online one, which people can access at www.education.ie. However, paper copies are available if people would rather fill them in, Cllr Murphy pointed out, saying that the local library has an adequate supply of the forms. Anyone experiencing difficulty in filling out the survey can contact a helpline for assistance. The number is 1800 303 621.
