An accomplished administrator with an impeccable CV has joined the team at Mitchelstown Credit Union.

As of this week, Youghal native, Colin Irwin, takes up the post of assistant manager where he will have responsibility for the day to day running of this busy credit union.

Now resident in Passage West, Colin's credit union experience extends over 3 counties - Ballincollig, Co Cork; Tallow, Co Waterford and Ennistymon, Co Clare.

According to the man himself, he's looking forward to working in Mitchelstown, during what promises to be a time of positive change as credit unions adapt to new practices.

Like the credit union movement in general, Mitchelstown is embracing the digital age and the intention is to offer a range of on line services, while at the same time retaining that all important personal touch.

Helping Colin settle in is manager, Dermot Long, who sees Colin as a valuable addition to the Mitchelstown Credit Union team.

"We are very fortunate to have a such loyal and committed workforce here in Mitchelstown, having Colin on board further strengthens that team" Dermot told The Avondhu this week.
