Rumours that the Garda Chief Superintendant’s office based in Fermoy is due to move to Cobh has been a cause of concern for many local this week.
Speaking at the Northern Committee Meeting of Cork County Council in Mallow on Tuesday, Cllr Noel McCarthy asked if the council would write to Chief Superintendent Tom Myers to ask for clarification in relation to the rumours.
“I just want to bring up something that is concerning me that I heard during the week in Fermoy … it’s been rumoured in Fermoy that the chief superintendant’s office will be moved to Cobh and that’s really concerning a lot of people in Fermoy and myself.”
