With little to no action being taken towards completing the Shanowen Estate in Rathcormac, locals in the area have spoken out and have formulated an action group in an attempt to move matters along.
Names of residents who spoke to The Avondhu have been changed to protect individuals’ privacy.
Last week, the topic of Shanowen Estate was raised at council level, with one local councillor describing the estate as a ‘Third World facility’, however, this week, Shanowen resident Sean (not his real name) said this was not the case.
“Shanowen is a lovely estate to live in, but unfortunately a quarter of it has been impacted by the lack of works being carried out by the developer,” he said.
