‘They still ignore, ignore, ignore’ – Mitchelstown family plead for action

A Mitchelstown mother says her family of six have been living among extensive mould, damp and repeated leaks despite reporting problems with their council-owned home for a number of years. 

Shakeela, who resides in Stag Park with her husband and four children, said conditions have deteriorated for what she reckons is over a 7-year period. She fears the property is having a negative impact on the health of the family.

During a visit to the home, The Avondhu observed extensive mould across parts of the top-floor bedrooms and upstairs landing, alongside signs of damp and water damage elsewhere in the property.
