
Saturday, September 5th, will mark boxing legend, Katie Taylor’s last fight, as she plans to retire after the bout with French boxer, Flora Pili at Croke Park.
The fight marks an end to a boxing career spanning almost 30 years for Taylor, the undisputed and undefeated lineal world lightweight champion from 2019 to 2024, an Olympic gold medalist and the holder of multiple boxing titles.
Fermoy man Patrick (‘Pa’) Flynn, Katie Taylor’s former promoter and a former national coach, recalled memories from her early career when speaking with The Avondhu this week.
