This weekend, there will be a host of events across Anglesboro to raise money for the Drive to Survive campaign, which is aiming to raise €1 million for hospices around Ireland over the course of a year, in memory of John Gallahue.

The fundraising weekend will kick off with bingo in Anglesboro Hall on Good Friday at 8.30pm with lots of cash prizes up for grabs.

On Saturday, March 30, the Easter Bunny will be merrily hopping into Combaun Wood, where there will be an exciting Easter egg treasure hunt. It will begin at 2pm with a half hour walk and treasure hunt and tea, minerals and treats will be served in the community centre afterwards.

Then on Sunday, it's time to get out into the fresh air and dust off the bike saddles for the Anglesboro Easter Sunday cycle around the Galtees. Registration for the 70km cycle is €20 and it takes place at 10.30am with cyclists moving off at 11am and registration for the shorter 15km cycle is €5 at 11.30am with cyclists leaving at noon and there will also be a walk at Barna Cross at noon.

Refreshments will be served in the community centre after both cycles and the walk and all participation and support would be greatly appreciated.

After Mass, there will also be a coffee morning in the hall from 1.30pm, followed by a family fun day with bouncy castles for the children.

The fundraising blitz will then reach a spectacular finale in the Galtee View Bar with a head shave, waxing and hair dying night and anyone interested can contact any member of the Angleboro Community Council.

Sponsorship cards are available and again all support would be greatly appreciated.
