On Friday, 12th June, Mikey Ryan’s Bridge played host to a crowd much larger than usual, with over 200 people gathering for a memorable evening of traditional music, dancing and chat at ‘Dancing at The Crossroads’.
From the very first notes of music, there was a spontaneous response from those in attendance, with dancers quickly taking ‘to the floor’ and an atmosphere of energy and enjoyment setting in from the outset.
There are now over 25 neighbours directly involved in the organising, each playing a vital role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. The success of the event is a true tribute to the local community, ‘ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine’.
