The finishing touches were being applied to Glanworth National School earlier this week with the new school year fast approaching.
Refurbishment works were carried out in the bathrooms of the school and Johnny Mahon and his team of painters were giving the school a new look, with a light shade of grey applied to the exterior walls.
Glanworth NS caretaker Eugene Whelan, said the refurbishment works would give the school a fresher feel and he was looking forward to the new school year.
“The paint job was long overdue, it’s probably 15 years since it was last painted but it looks great,” he said.
“There are big plans to develop the field behind the school as well. We hope to add tennis courts and an all weather pitch, so there are exciting times ahead for the students,” concluded Eugene.
