With both Indiependence 2023 and Mitchelstown Busking Festival on over this August bank holiday weekend, Mitchelstown businesses have been getting into the festival spirit by hanging out colourful bunting and stocking up on festival essentials.
Indiependence Managing Director, local man Shane Dunne, said he was expecting a maximum of ‘around 10,000 per day’ on the Saturday and Sunday of this year’s festival at Deer Farm.
With the weather forecast looking mixed for the weekend, Mr Dunne said mud concerns were high on the list of priorities in the lead-up to the festival.
“The crew are doing fantastic work getting it all together and protecting the ground after what was a very wet July,” he said. “But it’s all in good shape and the forecast for the weekend looks decent.”
