Peter Merrigan, the man behind the very successful Fermoy company Triace Ltd., has been nominated for an award by the National Hall of Fame Awards that acknowledge the work of people involved with the bovine, equine and ovine industry.

In the early 1980s, Peter Merrigan set up Triace Ltd, having seen a niche in the pressure/power-washer market. This was at a that time when farmers were purchasing expensive off-the-shelf machines that weren't always fit for purpose and didn’t have a dependable back-up service. So from there, Peter began manufacturing custom-built machines and the business grew and expanded to include various types of industrial equipment.

Working initially from his base at Cork Road, Fermoy, Peter and Triace went on to open a branch in Ballincollig Commercial Park as well as outlets in Athlone and Dublin.

Peter is being recognised for the excellent washing service he provides to agricultural shows around the country. And not only that, but if and when exhibitors experience a problem with a generator on site, Peter is on hand to sort the problem there and then.

The wards event will be held in The Sheraton Hotel, Athlone on May 3rd.
