N72 surface raised as a priority with TII

Maintenance of national routes within the Fermoy Municipal District was a key issue raised with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) senior management in a recent meeting held with members of Cork County Council.

Fermoy MD chairperson, Cllr Kay Dawson was among those in attendance and on behalf of the district, outlined the need for increased funding to maintain the busy national route, the N72, which travels from Tallow through to Mallow, traversing the town of Fermoy. 

“The biggest issue and the immediate one we need is funding towards the surface on the roads that exist at the moment, the national routes.
