Mitchelstown athlete Kotryna Pacerinskaite continued her impressive run with yet another national gold medal at the Senior Outdoor Championships over the weekend.
The Fanahan McSweeney AC member made the step up to senior level in style, dominating the Senior Women’s 28lb Weight for Distance event.
Pacerinskaite won gold and set a new national and championship record with a best throw of 8.64 metres, finishing almost two metres clear of her nearest competitor, Laura Dolan of Ferbane AC, whose best effort was 6.71 metres. This winning throw for the local athlete comfortably beat her national record distance set in 2025 of 8.33 metres.
