Rathcormac still seeking solutions to flooding

“That’s the most important thing to me about this, it is life or death. I couldn’t get over it the amount of water that came that day and the implications of it,” Rathcormac resident Kenneth Drury told officials in attendance at a meeting in the village last week.

Minister for the OPW, Kevin Boxer Moran, OPW and Cork County Council senior officials, elected representatives and locals were among those at the meeting on Wednesday last August 27.

Opening the meeting Mr Drury explained how on the day of the flood, he got a phonecall to help Aujelle Raggett and her two young children, but he didn’t realise the extent of the issue at the time.
