The failure of members of Cork County Council’s Estates’ sector to attend Tuesday’s meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District to answer questions relating to the Shanowen Estate in Rathcormac, has been branded as a ‘further slap in the face’ by the Shanowen Estate Community Action Group.
Estate resident Stephen McCarthy, spoke to The Avondhu on behalf of the group following the council meeting this week.
“This is a further slap in the face and another two-finger gesture sent to us from Cork County Council. It goes to show that not only will they not engage with us, but that they refuse to follow their own policies and procedures also.
“They are putting up barriers to prevent us from asking questions that need to be answered,” Mr McCarthy stated.
