Alana Nixon from Watergrasshill is currently preparing for a major volunteering mission in the town of Poipet in Cambodia this August.
She and her best friend, Aisha McCarthy from Cork will be volunteering with Tearfund, an international Christian charity whose main work in Cambodia is to prevent human trafficking by finding the root cause of poverty and assisting at that point.
Alana has a very strong faith and has been attending Fermoy Presbyterian Church since she was 10 years old.
“I’ve always wanted to go on a mission. I did some research, prayed about it and I knew that this is where God was calling me to go,” Alana told The Avondhu.
