Ornua will apply for planning permission in February as they prepare for an extension to their Mitchelstown plant that will see 30 full time jobs created.

As first revealed by The Avondhu in December, Ornua is set to make a significant investment in their Kerrygold manufacturing hub in the town, costed at €40m.

It will be a large-scale build of a new churn and processing infrastructure, with new packaging lines and more storage space. It will also involve additional office space and personnel facilities.

The project is set to see 120 jobs created during construction, with 30 permanent positions at the plant to follow.
