Camper van park proposed for Fermoy

Plans could see a new park for Fermoy to facilitate the growing camper van holiday market. 

Cllr Frank O’Flynn introduced a notice of motion asking that the municipal district would look at designating overnight parking for motor homes.

He said this was needed to ‘meet the increased need due to the growing number of camper vans/motor homes on the road’.

Speaking at Tuesday’s online Fermoy MD meeting, Cllr O’Flynn said that such a move would facilitate growth in tourism and benefit the region economically.

“I have got numerous requests from people over recent years, but there has been a greater increase last year with people staying locally and there has been an explosion in camper van sales.
