Water tankers were dispatched to Glanworth as a burst water main caused a major outage over the weekend – it comes as management are set to launch an internal review of the service in the area.

Irish Water and Cork County Council repaired three consecutive burst water mains this week in Glanworth.

As reported on in The Avondhu last week, the first break occurred on Monday, January 11, and there were two consecutive breaches the following day Tuesday and again on Wednesday 13th, which both occurred when the system was recharging.

Irish Water said last Friday that they believed all Glanworth residents should have their water supply restored, however, temporary water supplies were in place over the weekend as a precaution.
