West Waterford locals sent to Killarney for vaccinations

West Waterford locals have been receiving Covid-19 vaccination appointments based in Killarney.

Local councillor John Pratt along with individuals in Tallow, Lismore, Ballysaggart, Cappoquin, Aglish and surrounding areas have received Covid-19 vaccination appointments at a vaccination centre in Killarney, roughly two hours away.

Cllr Pratt told The Avondhu that he attended his vaccination appointment in Killarney, undertaking a two-hour drive there and (another two hours) back, however, he has since been in contact with the HSE after receiving ‘numerous’ representations from locals in the same situation.

“The postcode seems to be having some effect because the South East Healthcare is all divided up into different locations, we seem to be falling through into a strange set-up,” Cllr Pratt said.
