Watergrasshill has the youngest population out of communities across Ireland, as well as the most percentage population growth since the 2016 Census, while the towns of Tallow and Kilmallock feature prominently in Waterford and Limerick respectively.
While Watergrasshill topped the scale for the whole of Cork with a 37% population growth since the last Census, and has the youngest population nationally along with Saggart, Dublin, with an average age of 30, Carrigaline was found to have the biggest population outside Cork city at 18,239. Cloyne had the highest population density of 3,108 people per km squared.
The oldest population in Cork was found in Newmarket with an average age of 46, while Tower had the biggest percentage of adults living with their parents at 19%.
