Residents’ money used to fund day-to-day running of nursing home

A recent HIQA report into Aperee Living in Conna has found a number of serious issues regarding how residents’ money was handled at the centre, as well as a number of identified high and medium fire risks which had yet to be addressed, more than a year after being highlighted.

A 50-bed facility, there were 46 residents onsite on the day of the inspection in April this year. 

Residents were ‘full of praise’ for the staff, and inspectors found that the residents had a good quality of life and enjoyed a good standard of care from ‘kind and dedicated staff’.
