The Fermoy Credit Union Tour of the Knockmealdown's organised by the Fermoy Cycling Club was very successful on Sunday last, with a big entry and lovely sunny weather for the cyclists on the scenic route from Fermoy to Lismore, Vee Gap, Clogheen and Mitchelstown, before finishing back in Fermoy. Cllr Noel McCarthy and Pat Morrissey on behalf of the Fermoy Credit Union sent the cyclists on their way from the Credit Union premises on Patrick Street.

The Fermoy Cycling Club is most grateful to all who assisted with the running of the event, particularly those who provided the very welcome refreshments after the Tour and to Christy Healy for the use of the facilities at Coláiste an Chraoibhín.

On this Sunday, September 29 the Galtee Wheelers, Mitchelstown, have invited the members of the Fermoy Cycling Club to join them on their 100 kilometres '4 Counties Challenge' Sportif event, starting at 9am with refreshments for all participants afterwards, for what should be a very enjoyable days cycling.

The Fermoy Cycling Club annual Table Quiz in conjunction with the Fermoy Rowing Club will be held on Monday, October 7 in the Grand Hotel and the club would appreciate the usual strong support for this quiz.

The clubs introduction to Youth Cycling continues on this Friday, September 27 at 6.45pm. All interested in taking part are very welcome. Minimum age is 8 years and cycling helmets must be worn.
