
Several hundred parents and their children attended Tuesday’s open night at Blackwater Community School in Lismore. Damp conditions didn’t deter the large crowd, who were all eager to see the school’s upgraded and enhanced facilities.
A considerable logistical exercise, scores of students and dozens of teachers helped host the elaborate event. Students assisted with the guided tours, with teachers on hand to greet parents and answer their questions.
Guests were greeted by deputy principal, Sheena Wilkinson, before being assigned ‘tour groups’. The process worked well and everyone got a full breakdown on what the school has to offer. The open night culminated with a principal’s address, along with personal contributions from several students.
