It has been confirmed that there is currently a Garda appointed to Kilworth Garda Station.
News of the appointment follows as a growing emphasis is being placed on the importance of community gardaí in local towns and villages.
Cork County Council were called on during the July meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District, to write to the Chief Superintendent of An Garda Siochána, Vincent O’Sullivan, and ask that a Garda be allocated to the local station as soon as possible.
