‘Lights, Camera, Action’ was the order of the night at Walsh’s Yard Bar on Friday week last at the official launch of Strictly Mitchelstown.

The buzz was electric as the 32 dancers and their supporters gathered for the off. Mitchelstown GAA Club and Mitchelstown Musical Society were present in force, as were the organising committee.

Mr Billy Cahill and Mr John Courtney thanked all the dancers and their respective sponsors for supporting this event, which will take place at The Firgrove Hotel on Saturday, October 14th.

The three main sponsors – namely Mitchelstown Credit Union, 360 Turbines and Pat and Miriam Mulcahy, Ballinwillin House – were thanked most sincerely.

Dancing rehearsals are well under way under the brilliant guidance of choreographer Ms Aileen McMurtry and each dancing couple will have at least a 20-hour rehearsal schedule up to the event.

The event is garnishing huge interest in the town and all the dancers have their voting cards and will be looking for your support. A draw will take place on the pre-sold voting cards for a hotel mini-break.

Dancers participating in the event are: Cllr Kay Dawson and, Sean Chamberlain; Pamela O’Regan and James Sherlock; Mary O’Callaghan and Pat Lambe; Rachel Kinsella and Paul Seymour; Tara O’Sullivan and Shane Cahill; Lyn Cotter and Declan Lambe; Aine Weir and Mike Breen; Una Fitzgerald and Tom Price; Bernie Quinn and Jimmy Hennessy; Tracey Cassidy and Bill Cussen; Carol Dunne and Owen Burke; Emma Lynch and Michael Cleary; Marie Burke and Karl Sweeney; Nadia Khammash O’Rourke and Philip O’Donoghue; Noreen Lawton and Dominic O’Brien.
