St Colman's, Fermoy bridged a 13 year gap when they recorded a massive victory over Thurles CBS in the Dean Ryan Munster Under 16 A HC final replay at the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick on Saturday.

Thurles were fancied by many to take this title having had a huge win over Midleton CBS in the semi-final. Exchanges were very even in the first quarter as Colman's led 0-4 to 0-2.

Thurles came very strong being on top in defence and some well taken pointed frees by Darren Flood helped them lead at the break 0-8 to 0-5.

On the resumption the Fermoy side came very strong with Eoin Carey and Brian Roche impressing. They cut the gap to two points 0-10 to 0-8 entering the final quarter.

Colman's hit the front in the 46th minute with a stunning goal by Brian Roche.
