Students of St Colman’s College, Fermoy have received their Cork and Munster Schools' trophies following a successful year in the sport of pitch & putt. Two teams from the school travelled to Kildare to take part in the national finals last week, which was won by Carrigaline Community School with a score of 319 points. St Colman’s College 1 came 5th with a score of 329 points, comprising of Gary Mahon, Ryan Sexton and Sam Tonks; while team 2, made up of Daniel O’Regan, Colm Dorgan and Adam Carey, finished seventh on 333 points.

Cork schools claimed the three podium places, with Colaiste Chriost Ri and Davis College, Mallow in second and third places respectively - all schools that St Colman’s had previously beaten in competition this year. Ryan Sexton’s score of 106 was the lowest of the St Colman’s students over the two 18-hole rounds, while Daniel O’Regan’s second round score of 52 was their lowest individual round tally. Well to to all concerned.
