Lismore, the birthplace of Robert Boyle, kicks off its programme for Science Week with a Family Science Day on Sunday, November 9. The event will start the Robert Boyle Science Festival in the South East.

On hand to entertain, enlighten and educate on the day will be Calmast from Waterford Institure of Technology, whose Kitchen Chemistry, fun science, maths, engineering and technology displays have been a hit with crowds at festivals around the country.

Also present on the day will be people from the London Science museum, who will bring with them their popular Bubble Show. The day will be packed with shows, puzzles and experiments, and is part of a week long programme of events that will include Lismore Mobile Science Workshop visiting schools throughout the South East.

Some of the highlights of the Science Week will be ‘Danger, High Voltage’ by the London Science museum, table quizes, The Boyle Show and The King under the Carpark – where science meets history.

Lismore Family Science Day takes place at Lismore Heritage Centre on Sunday, November 9 from 2pm to 5pm, and is a free event. The London Science Museum will run two shows on the day at 2pm and 3.30pm, places to these shows are limited.
