The cancellation of First Holy Communions and Confirmations across the country was a topic addressed at Masses last week in Castlelyons by Parish Priest, Fr Gerard Coleman.
While the recent news of the cancellations comes as a disappointment to many, one parishioner spoke out about statements made from the altar at the local Masses.
“The shock and dismay of the congregation was visible behind their masks at his (Fr Coleman’s) unfair and unbalanced rant,” the parishioner told The Avondhu.
Speaking at the Mass, Fr Coleman said that he was aware that it was a disappointment to children and parents that the sacraments were cancelled once again.
