An t-Athair Peadar O Laoghaire (1839-1920) remains an important figure in the literature of the Irish language.

As we approach the cententary of his death, his profile has been raised considerably thanks to the efforts of a mother and son team, Eilis Ui Bhriain and Pat O’Brien.

They, along with a dedicated team, are responsible for a bilingual publication, ‘Mise An Mac San’.

The ‘local’ launch of this book took place in Castlelyons Community Centre last Sunday before a fine crowd – another launch took place in Ballyvourney last week.
