Works proposed on the L1418 adjacent to the CBS entrance at Brigown, Mitchelstown go to public consultation this week until the end of May, with the intention of commencing works in early June.
The proposed works include a new level access pedestrian crossing near the entrance to Carraigroe housing estate, zebra crossing road markings, two new round top ramps, pencil bollards, signage, and road markings and public lighting upgrades.
Speaking at this week’s Fermoy Municipal District meeting, Senior Executive Engineer Brendan O’Gorman said: “In essence, it’s a straight forward pedestrian crossing but there is additional elements here of something that you wouldn’t have seen in this district or maybe even this county regarding pencil bollards and safety schemes approaching schools.”
