Kilworth Celtic FC’s biggest and most important fundraiser of the year took place in the village last Friday night. As far as organisers were concerned it was all good news, with a record amount of teams striving for outright glory.
All of the Kilworth’s 4 pubs (Aherne’s, Cotter’s, The Butchers and The Village Inn) benefitted from what is a unique fundraising concept. When we caught up with the quizzers, they were in The Village Inn. Trish Coughlan did need the benefit of a microphone to be heard, such was the lively atmosphere, but in fairness, her voice projection skills learned on stage, came in handy and she eventually got her message across.
The Village Inn crowd was swelled thanks to the presence of the ‘Con’s Roc’ horse racing syndicate, as they toasted their Fairyhouse success.
